Weekly Car Rental in Orlando: What It Really Costs (and What's Included)
Renting a car in Orlando for a week looks simple until you reach the checkout page. The daily rate you saw is rarely the total. Taxes, airport fees, insurance add-ons and fuel rules all change the final number.
Here is how to read a weekly rental price, what to ask before you book, and how a local owner's weekly rate compares.
What goes into a weekly car rental price
The base rate. This is the advertised price for the week. It changes by season, car type and how far ahead you book. Orlando is busy around school holidays and theme park peaks, so prices move.
Taxes and surcharges. Florida rentals carry taxes and fees on top of the base rate. Always check the line items before you pay.
Airport fees. Picking up at an airport counter often adds location charges that an off-airport pickup does not.
Insurance. Many renters are asked at the counter to add coverage. This can add a lot to the total. Find out first whether your own auto policy or credit card already covers rentals, and read the terms.
Deposit. Most rentals hold a deposit on your card or take one upfront. Ask how much, and when it comes back.
Fuel, tolls and extras. Central Florida has many toll roads. Ask how tolls are handled, and what the fuel policy is. Child seats, extra drivers and GPS are usually extra.
Questions to ask before you book
- What is the total price including taxes and fees, not just the base rate?
- What insurance is included, and what is my responsibility if something happens?
- How much is the deposit and when is it returned?
- Who handles maintenance if the car has a problem during the week?
- How and where do I pick the car up and return it?
- Are there mileage limits?
If a company cannot answer these clearly, keep looking.
Big chain or local owner?
Large brands like Avis, Budget, Hertz and Sixt offer many locations and a big fleet. That helps if you need a specific car type or an airport pickup. The tradeoff is that prices are built from a base rate plus a stack of fees and add-ons, and the experience can feel impersonal.
A local owner works differently. You deal with one person, the terms are short, and the price is easier to understand. The tradeoff is a smaller selection.
How Zillion Asset Group prices a weekly rental
Zillion Asset Group is a local car rental business in Orlando and Winter Park, serving drivers across Florida.
- Weekly rate: $300 to $400 plus applicable taxes.
- Deposit: $250.
- Insurance and maintenance are covered by us. If you prefer to use your own coverage, self-insurance is welcome.
- Pickup is arranged with you each time, with Winter Park as the ideal location.
- Taxes and any fees are itemized in the rental agreement before you pay, so there are no surprises at the end.
The aim is simple weekly pricing you can understand before you commit. Check the weekly rental page for the latest details, since the rate within the range depends on the rental.
Is a weekly rental the right choice?
A weekly rental often works better than daily if you are staying seven days or more. Many companies charge a lower per-day rate for longer rentals. It also suits people between cars, visiting family, working a short Florida contract, or needing a reliable car for a few weeks.
If you need a car for a month or longer, ask about longer-term pricing, because weekly rates are not always the cheapest option over time.
